2-Day Hike Rwanda's Spectacular Volcanoes: Bisoke & Sabyinyo｜Rwanda

Day 1: Hike Mount Bisoke Crater Lake (3,711m)

Begin your 2-Day tour at 4:30, with an early morning pickup from your Hotel/Airport in Kigali, followed by a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park. After arriving at the park headquarters, meet your professional ranger guide for a briefing before setting off on the hike.

The trail passes through dense bamboo forests and lush vegetation before gradually climbing into the Afro-alpine zone. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding volcanoes and keep watch for golden monkeys, forest birds, and unique mountain flora.

After several hours of hiking, reach the summit of Mount Bisoke (3,711m), where the magnificent crater lake awaits. Spend time taking in the breathtaking scenery, capturing unforgettable photos, and enjoying your packed lunch while surrounded by one of Rwanda's most beautiful volcanic landscapes.

After soaking in the incredible views, descend back to the Starting Point and transfer to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Conquer Mount Sabyinyo (3,669m) & return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, return to the park headquarters for another ranger briefing before beginning your ascent of Mount Sabyinyo, one of the most exciting hikes in the Virunga Mountains.

Known as the "Old Man's Teeth" because of its jagged peaks, Mount Sabyinyo offers a more challenging and adventurous climb featuring steep trails, wooden ladders, and dramatic ridges. As you climb higher, enjoy panoramic views across Volcanoes National Park and the surrounding volcanic chain.

The ultimate reward comes at the summit, where you'll stand at the unique point where Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet. Celebrate your achievement with incredible photographs while taking in one of East Africa's most spectacular mountain panoramas.

After enjoying the summit, descend through the beautiful mountain forest before meeting your driver for the return journey to Kigali, your driver guide will drop you Off at your Hotel or Kigali international Airport.
