Aroha!
Departing from the Tahiti Tourist Office, I will give you an introduction to the tour, then I will take you through the neighborhood where I grew up, around the Town Hall and the Pape'ete Market. I will tell you the story of the streets, but also that of my grandmother, a famous seamstress from the 1940s to the 2000s, who created the "Pomare" dress and the "Purotu" dress.
Then I will take you to the Pape'ete Town Hall, where I will explain how the Pomare Royal Family has shaped the history of Polynesia over the last 200 years. There, where live guides will only spend a minute, I will provide you with the knowledge to appreciate the uniqueness of our country.
From this point, I will offer you 3 routes: either towards the back of the city with the district of the religious schools and the works of street art, or towards the center via the Market, the Cathedral, and Place Tarahoi, or towards the waterfront with the harbor, Place Tū Marama, the Pāʻofaʻi Garden, and Pouvanaa A Oopa Avenue.
Regardless of the route chosen, your exploration of Pape'ete with your local live guide will end at Place Tū Marama, on the headland between the two small bays. You will have the opportunity to explore the Pāʻofaʻi Garden on your own, which faces Mo'orea, or you could enjoy a drink at one of the two nearby restaurants. Or you will be only a 5-minute walk from the taxi stand.
Te aroha ia rahi.
