Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Depart from Ulaanbaatar and drive south into the Middle Gobi. Arrive at Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a unique granite rock formation rising from the steppe. Explore small caves and rock formations, and enjoy your first night under the vast Mongolian sky.

Overnight: Ger camp or nomadic family stay

Day 2: Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa Cliff)

Travel to Tsagaan Suvarga, famous for its colorful layered cliffs resembling ancient ruins. Walk along the cliffs and enjoy breathtaking views, especially at sunset.

Overnight: Ger camp

Day 3: Yol Valley (Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park)

Continue to Yol Valley, located within Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park. Hike through a narrow canyon where ice can remain even in summer.

Day 4: Bayanzag

Continue your journey deeper into the Gobi Desert to Bayanzag, also known as the “Flaming Cliffs,” famous for its striking red sandstone formations and rich dinosaur fossil discoveries. At Bayanzag, visitors can walk along the iconic red cliffs, enjoy sunset views, and explore the area where the first dinosaur eggs were discovered. It’s perfect for photography, light hiking, and learning about Mongolia’s prehistoric history.

Day 5: Ongi Monastery

Travel north to the peaceful ruins of Ongi Monastery, located along a river oasis. Discover Mongolia’s Buddhist heritage.

Overnight: Ger camp

Day 6: Orkhon Waterfall

Transition from desert to green steppe as you reach the Khangai Mountains. Explore the Orkhon Waterfall and stay with a nomadic family for an authentic cultural experience.

Day 7: Kharkhorin

Travel directly to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery and explore the historical area.

Overnight: Ger camp or hotel

Day 8: Ulaanbaatar

Visit Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, and explore Erdene Zuu Monastery before returning to the city.
