Take a 10km cruise around Nushima, said to be the 'Onokoro Island' associated with the creation myth told in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, aboard an active fishing boat. Accompanied by an expert guide, this approximately 1-hour tour allows you to view giant stones and mysterious rock formations like the 'Kamitategami-iwa' and 'Shimotategami-iwa' from the sea. You will learn about the creation myth, the history of the island, its geological formation, and the local fishing industry while observing the rocks associated with these legends. Nushima is alive with the creation myth of Japan. The surrounding area is filled with mysterious rocks like the 'Heavenly Pillar' (Kamitategami-iwa) and unique reefs that can only be seen from the sea. After disembarking, there are many spots to enjoy on the island, including Onokoro Shrine and various locations rooted in mythology. The tour was planned by local fishermen who possess the skills to navigate difficult waters, aiming to share the charm of the region along with its myths. It is coordinated and guided by someone who moved to the island and loves Nushima dearly. With a track record of guiding about 300 groups (1,000 people) annually, you can enjoy a private tour limited to one group per time slot. Balancing professional fishing with tourism provides insights into new regional development and increasing the number of people connected to the island, which is vital for an outlying island facing population decline and loss of vitality. Please leave the decision to the fishermen. *4) Very rarely, the trip may be possible even in rainy weather. Only in such cases will we consult with the customer. *5) If the trip is cancelled due to weather, there will be no cancellation fee.
