1. Richmond Old Town - Mount Wellington - Brewery (Exterior View) - Oyster Farm: In the morning, we'll first drive to Richmond, one of Australia's best-preserved towns. Here you'll visit Australia's oldest stone arch bridge, built in 1823, and a Catholic church built in 1836. The town's old bakeries and dessert shops are also popular with tourists. It was also a filming location for the Hong Kong film "Once Again."
In the afternoon, we will ascend Mount Wellington, at an altitude of 1270 meters, a superb vantage point offering panoramic views of Hobart and the surrounding sea. Next, we will visit the exterior of Australia's oldest brewery. We will also travel to Tasmania's renowned oyster farm, where you can sample fresh Pacific oysters (optional, at your own expense).
2. Bruny Island: Drive south through Hobart city center to the ferry terminal. Take a 20-minute ferry ride to Bruny Island. Follow the coastline, winding through the forest, to the famous North-South Trail. This narrow path connects the south and north of Bruny Island like a thread, with the vast ocean on both sides. This is also a habitat for penguins returning to their nests.
You can also visit an oyster farm on the island to taste some of Tasmania’s most delicious oysters (at your own expense*).
Explore the vibrant Adventure Bay on Bruny Island and have the chance to spot the island's unique white kangaroos. Hidden in the island's forests are also some small shops where you can enjoy cheese, seafood, or even a glass of whiskey.
3. Port Arthur Historic Sites: Tasman Arches, Devil's Kitchen, Checkerboard Rock, and Blowhole. Port Arthur is a colonial-era prison for convicts, the largest prison in the Southern Hemisphere in the 19th century, and one of Australia's best-preserved prison relics. Port Arthur's rich history and the beautiful scenery of the Tasman Peninsula make it one of Tasmania's most famous tourist attractions. Every visitor to Tasmania makes a point of visiting Port Arthur (entrance fee not included). On the way to Port Arthur Prison, we will also visit four of the Tasman Peninsula's natural wonders: Tasman Arches, Devil's Kitchen, Checkerboard Rock, and Blowhole.
**Daily itinerary: Arrive at the meeting point between approximately 17:00 and 18:00 and the tour concludes.
