Take time to acclimate as you embark on a short drive to Thimphu and check into the hotel
- Explore Thimphu, Bhutan's vibrant capital, steeped in unique culture. Witness monks in red robes, men in striped ghos, and women in colorful kiras. Settle into your hotel and commence a journey to unravel Bhutan's enigmas. Begin with a visit to the significant National Memorial Chorten, erected in 1974 in honor of Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, Bhutan's third king (1928-1972)
- Marvel at the grandeur of Thimphu Tashichho Dzong, a fortress and Buddhist monastery showcasing distinctive Bhutanese architecture. Nestled by the Wang Chhu river, it serves as the present seat of the Druk Desi, the civil government's head, and accommodates the offices of the reigning king

- Explore Kyichu Lhakhang, Bhutan's oldest temple, built by King Songtsen Gampo to spread Buddhism and subdue an ogress. Legend has it that all 108 temples, including Jambhay Lhakhang, were miraculously constructed in a single night
- Transport yourself to the ancient Kyichu Temple, dating back to the 7th century. As its name implies, the temple exudes serenity, offering a peaceful experience. Next to the temple is a museum, once a house, now dedicated to the late Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. Within, you'll encounter photographs and artifacts that belonged to Rinpoche, providing a glimpse into his life and teachings
- Marvel at Dumtse Lhakhang, constructed in 1433 by Thangton Gyalpo, renowned for building iron bridges. The temple's purpose was to subdue a demoness, thus it's firmly chained to the ground. Its three floors symbolize hell, earth, and heaven. Note that a special permit is required to enter this significant structure
