<Seiguntei Yamaju>
Founded 200 years ago. The store name "Yamaju" comes from the fact that the first generation owner was affectionately known as "Kaminoyama no Jubei."
When it first opened, it operated as a bathhouse called "Yuya Chojuyu" and was a bustling place where people could relax with a meal or drink after a soak in the hot springs.
During the Taisho period, we served Western cuisine, but since then, we have been operating as a Japanese restaurant.
In 1964 and 2008, members of the Imperial Family visited the restaurant. Enjoy a comfortable stay in a purely Japanese-style space with the cuisine and hospitality that only a long-established restaurant can provide. In 2020, the restaurant was featured in the Michelin Guide Niigata. In autumn 2021, the building was designated a nationally registered tangible cultural property.
