Meijia Tea Garden in Maokong is a multi-generational tea farming family. As early as 1895, the Zhang family ancestors brought tea seedlings from Anxi, Fujian to Taiwan for cultivation, and the tradition has been passed down to the 10th generation today. In 1990, the 8th generation successor, Zhang Meijia, and the 9th generation decided to expand their business beyond just 'tea farming'. They built a teahouse on the hillside that offers both views of the Taipei Basin and a rustic countryside charm. In addition to serving their own home-grown and roasted tea, they developed tea-infused cuisine, pioneering a new tea-drinking culture that attracts food lovers from all over. The 9th generation named the tea garden after their father, and it has become the first renowned restaurant in Maokong to feature 'tea-infused cuisine'.
