Activity 1: Whitewater canyoning

• Venue: Shek Stream, Pingnan, Fanling

• Event date: August 8, 2023, to August 26, 2023 from 10:00 am-4:00 pm
  

• Gathering location: Nanchong Road-Wilson Avenue, Section 10 (Parking area at the roundabout, under the big tree. Please refer to the transportation method.)
  

Itinerary for the Nanchong Road-Wilson Wilson Trail Section 10 Adventure:

• 10:00 am: Meet at the parking area near the roundabout on Nanchong Road, under the big tree. Gather at 10:05 for equipment collection and preparation
• 10:10 am: Introduction to the activity and equipment fitting
• 10:30 am: Begin the hiking portion of the adventure
• 10:50 am: Experience the excitement of waterfall sliding, pool jumping, and cascading
• 1:30 pm: Take a break for lunch (self-care)
• 2:20 pm: Continue the adventure with more waterfall sliding, pool jumping, and cascading
• 4:00 pm: End of the activity. Disband and return

Note: Please make sure to follow the provided schedule for a smooth and enjoyable adventure experience.

Recommended clothing:

• Head: It is recommended to bring and wear a hat for head protection, such as a peaked cap or a hiking cap. Additionally, consider wearing sunglasses and using eyeglass strings to secure them and prevent them from falling into the water. Participants with long hair must tie their hair up during the event for safety purposes

• Tops: It is advised to wear a long-sleeve sun protection top to safeguard your shoulders and hands from the sun. If you don't have specific clothing to protect your hands, ensure to apply extra sunscreen to them for added protection

• Hands: Consider wearing gloves that provide palm sun protection and safeguard your hands from scratches during the activity

• Feet: It is generally recommended to wear sports shorts or trousers, with trousers being preferable to avoid potential scratches from stones in the water

• Shoes: You can wear non-slip shoes or ordinary sports shoes during the activity. It is also advisable to bring slippers for use before and after the activities

• Backpack: As the activity involves ascending the mountain and descending along the stream, it is advisable to use a backpack. This allows for free movement of your hands, making crawling easier and more convenient during the activity

• Waterproof bag: Bring at least one waterproof bag. This will ensure the safety of your valuables such as phones and wallets, keeping them dry and protected throughout the activity

The conference will provide the following equipment:

• Helmet
• Seat belt with wear pads
• Steel buckle with a descender
• Buoyancy aid

It is recommended to bring your own checklist with the following items:

• Plenty of water or complementary beverages 
• Food or snacks
• Waterproof bag (to protect personal valuables) 
• Sun protection clothing (to protect skin from sunburn) 
• Water shoes (to protect feet)
• Towel
• Clothes for changing after the activity
• Sunscreen

To get to the destination, take the Fanling 56k Luk Keng Minibus (Kiang Kee Shiduo Station). Once you arrive, proceed straight along Plover Bay South Bay Road. Walk for about seventeen minutes, and arrive at the roundabout parking lot (under the big tree)
