My first time in Wulai, and I'm already enjoying such beautiful scenery and fresh air. In the afternoon, I leisurely soaked in the hot springs, savoring a precious little happiness amidst the city's hustle and bustle.
This chartered car trip included visits to places my family hadn't been to before, so I took them sightseeing, and thankfully they all had a great time. A big thank you to Jackie, who chatted with my dad throughout the trip; we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Next time, I'll choose a weekday and a 10-hour trip to avoid having to shorten the itinerary due to Friday traffic. The only downside was that the restaurants were too crowded at lunchtime, wasting some time, but my dad thought the food was delicious 😋
Overall, the experience was excellent. For a well-established public bathhouse, the environment was quite clean! If you purchase a voucher and use it on a weekend, you need to pay an additional $50 per person in cash. Upon entry, you'll receive a drink voucher and a numbered key. After entering, you exchange your shoes according to the key number provided at the counter. The changing area also has numbered lockers for storing your belongings, with large towels and shower caps inside. The hairdryers in the sofa area were quite new and worked well. The hooks by the bathtubs were also numbered so you could hook your own towel. Everything was very orderly and pleasant! The semi-outdoor women's bath area has a shower area, three large pools, a sauna, a spa area (two water jets), a cold pool, a steam room, and a seating area. The fully outdoor area has two pools, the temperature of which was just right, and a lounge chair area. The overall layout and flow are excellent, and the scenery is fantastic – overlooking a valley! After soaking in the hot spring, you can redeem a snack at the restaurant: a drink and half a portion of thick garlic slices. It was quite crowded on a weekend, but not too crowded. Overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely return if I had the chance.
I wanted to enjoy the trolley, cable car, and hot springs in Wulai, but I figured the older hot springs in the hot spring town would be crowded with locals, and I wasn't sure if I should bring my own towel. So I made a reservation here. I arrived earlier than my reservation time, but there was a room available, so I was able to enjoy my private bath early. 90 minutes is enough. On the way there, I took a Wulai Hot Springs taxi from near the bus stop for 200 NTD, and on the way back, I took the 50 NTD shuttle bus to Xindian Station. Bath towels, shampoo and body soap, but no conditioner, were provided, and drinking water was provided free of charge. You must reserve your date and time online in advance. Some staff members speak a little Japanese and try their best to explain things, but English is also fully understood, so communication is no problem if you can speak English.
The trail is very easy to walk on, and strollers can navigate it without any problems. Both the distance and the environment are very family-friendly. 👍 The waterfall at the end is beautiful, and the air is very fresh; it's said to be a place with a high concentration of negative ions.
