This short trip to Waishuangxi was truly a wonderful experience that exceeded my expectations! The interplay of mountain and water scenery along the way was already incredibly soothing, but what made the entire journey even more perfect was the attentiveness and professionalism of our driver, Wei En. She was not only punctual and friendly, but she also adjusted the itinerary according to our needs and introduced several attractions, ensuring the journey was anything but boring. Wei En's driving skills were incredibly smooth; even my child, who is prone to motion sickness, said, "I felt perfectly fine this time!" She was also very attentive to passenger safety when getting on and off the bus, reminding passengers in advance, slowing down, and even proactively helping us take photos—her attention to detail was impeccable. We had the same driver, James, as the day before. As usual he took us to some great places for coastal walks and photographs and was the same enthusiastic, energetic guy. When he learnt of my interest in temples he took me to a few of those too. And brought my reading glasses back to the hotel when I forgot them in the car. Overall a great driver and great service.

Many attractions in Hualien are far from the city center, making chartered car tours ideal for tourists who don't drive themselves. Our driver, Mr. Weng, contacted us in advance to discuss the itinerary. He picked us up at the hotel at the agreed time on the day of the tour. The entire drive was very smooth and safe, and he also reminded us of things to be aware of at the attractions. Our visits to several attractions—Songyuan Villa, General's Mansion, the fairytale-style Starbucks in the A2 Waterfront area, Liyu Lake, and Yunshanshui Dream Lake—went very smoothly. Only the Blue Tears Lasoë Ecological Park was inaccessible due to damage caused by the Guangfu landslide dam.
