Thankfully, I chose the second day. It didn't rain, but the course surface was terrible; those wearing sandals went from white to black. Unlike the first day, the wait for the shuttle bus wasn't long; it started even earlier than the staff said. I was lucky to get standard first-row tickets, which had a lot of space to release sky lanterns—they provided a ton! There were also fireworks, but unfortunately, the wind direction was different from the fireworks. The end was quite chaotic, with no great exit route; you had to watch by yourself, and some people even cut in line. There were golf carts to take you to the restrooms, but I still recommend not drinking too much, as I don't know if there will be a water shortage later. I highly recommend attending; it's much cheaper than other events.
The essential oils are very soothing and potent, the private car service is very thoughtful, and the whole environment is very comfortable and fragrant, making me want to come back again and again.
Our guide, Afu, provided detailed explanations in Chinese, clearly explaining the elephants' habits and the current living conditions of farmed elephants in Thailand. He explained that the elephants in the park were all rescued and are now self-reliant. Visiting here made me realize how much money is spent rescuing and caring for elephants. It made me understand that participating in this activity isn't about profiting from businesses, but about giving elephants a chance to survive. The environment was excellent, and the elephants all looked adorable and healthy. You could tell the rescuers were dedicated to their care. It was definitely worth a visit; I'll definitely come back every time I'm in Chiang Mai!
This time, we purchased a special offer on the platform near the Old City. We rented traditional Thai clothing for eight hours, with an additional 100 baht for hair styling. The staff member spoke a little Chinese, making communication very friendly and assisting us with dressing carefully. We returned the clothing after about five hours. The shop was beautiful and clean.
Our tour guide and driver were very responsible. Although the Black Temple isn't actually a temple, our whole family thought it was the most fun place. They even gave us a free hour of Thai massage on the way back, making it a very worthwhile trip.
