I bought the bike the night before because it was a last-minute decision to go, and it was very convenient to use the next day. I just opened it in front of the staff at the ticket gate and got through! It was a mountain bike experience that I didn't get to experience in Taiwan. Although the pace was slow, it allowed me to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery as I slowly ascended (and if the weather was good, I could even see Lake Biwa!).
We boarded at Kyoto Station and met at the designated meeting point on time. The tour guide, holding a GOGODAY sign, helped us find our way. The bus driver was professional and courteous; we were lucky to have Wu Yiyu as our guide – friendly, articulate, and a professional tour leader. On the bus, she provided brief introductions to the attractions in both English and Chinese, reminding us of meeting times. She managed the time well for each attraction, allowing us to visit four sites in one day – a truly fulfilling day! ☆ Sanzen-in Temple is the most beautiful spot; there's ample time for photos or lunch. ☆ Shirahisa Shrine is difficult to access, so a tour is the best option. ☆ Mangetsu-ji Temple offers close-up views of Lake Biwa and is a popular spot for locals. ☆ La Collina Omihachiman is very crowded on weekends; if possible, avoid weekends. One hour is enough for photos and to enjoy a Baumkuchen.
The driver was professional, punctual, friendly, polite, and attentive, patiently waiting for us while we carried out our activities. The vehicle was spacious, clean, and comfortable; the service was five-star. The private car made the entire experience much easier and smoother. We were all very satisfied with the trip and arrangements and would highly recommend it!
Our tour guide, Xiao Qin, was fantastic! 😊 She patiently explained everything to us and even took great photos for us. The whole trip was fun and enjoyable.
