The first stop is the Doi Temple (Twin Towers), located right in the heart of Quy Nhon. These unique 11th-century structures are famous for their curved, flat-topped roofs—a fascinating architectural fusion of Champa and Khmer styles that you won't find anywhere else in the region.
• By 10:00 AM, you will reach the majestic Banh It Temple complex. Perched on a windswept hilltop, these four distinct towers offer a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. This site is a masterpiece of Champa brick-building techniques, showcasing the peak of their architectural ingenuity.
• Lunch: An Authentic Culinary Experience At 11:30 AM, we pause for a true "farm-to-table" experience. You will visit a local eatery to watch artisans prepare Jumping Shrimp Pancakes (Bánh Xèo Tôm Nhảy) over traditional stoves. Enjoy these crispy delicacies wrapped in rice paper with fresh river shrimp and a medley of local herbs.
• Afternoon: Echoes of the Citadel At 02:00 PM, explore the Thap Thap Pagoda, the oldest Buddhist sanctuary in Central Vietnam. Built over 340 years ago using bricks from ten collapsed Champa towers, this peaceful site serves as a spiritual bridge between two great ancient cultures.
• Next, at 03:15 PM, we enter the historic Vijaya Citadel (Thành Đồ Bàn), which served as the capital of the Champa Kingdom for five centuries. Wander through the remnants of the royal grounds to see the ancient stone guardians—elephants and lions—that have witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties. Within the citadel lies the Canh Tien Temple, renowned for its elegant sandstone carvings and roof tiers that resemble the soaring wings of a fairy.
• The grand finale at 04:30 PM is the Duong Long Temple, the tallest brick tower complex in all of Southeast Asia. Marvel at the intricate sandstone reliefs and the sheer scale of these three magnificent monuments before we drive back to the city.
