Product Info

Fall in love with Trieste, one step at a time.

Join us, Eugenia and Jerome, licensed local guides who call Trieste home, for a walking tour that goes beyond monuments and dates.

Imagine standing in the heart of Piazza Unità d’Italia, where statues and elegant palaces open directly onto the sea and every breeze carries echoes of merchants, writers, sailors, and emperors. This is where our journey begins.

We’ll venture into the charming maze of the old town, "la città vecchia", following ancient pathways that reveal layers of Roman, medieval, and Habsburg history. Climbing toward the Arch of Riccardo, you’ll discover how every stone in Trieste has a story to tell. For those who prefer a gentler route, an elevator is available.

At the summit of San Giusto Hill, the city unfolds before your eyes. Here, among the ancient walls and the beautiful Cathedral of San Giusto, adorned with dazzling Byzantine mosaics, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view over Trieste’s rooftops, harbor, and coastline. We’ll also explore the memories and sacrifices that shaped Trieste during World War I.

Descending into the city, we’ll encounter the impressive Roman Theatre, where spectators gathered nearly two millennia ago, and continue into the elegant Borgo Teresiano, the district that transformed Trieste into one of Europe’s great trading capitals.

As we stroll along the Canal Grande and through Piazza della Borsa, you’ll experience the refined atmosphere that inspired famous writers and travelers for centuries. We’ll also visit the area of the former Jewish Ghetto, uncovering stories of coexistence, resilience, and transformation.

But Trieste is more than its monuments. It’s the powerful Bora wind racing through its streets. It’s the aroma of freshly roasted coffee drifting from historic cafés. It’s the meeting point of Latin, Slavic, and Central European cultures, creating a character found nowhere else in the world.

By the end of the tour, you won’t just have seen Trieste—you’ll understand it.

Whether you’re passionate about history, architecture, local culture, or simply looking for an authentic experience, this tour offers a deeper connection to the city and its people.

Because every traveler is different, we’re happy to adapt the route and pace to match your interests, ensuring a personal and memorable experience.
