Hidden Macedonia: Cave Churches, Villages & Cuisine｜North Macedonia

Starting from the Port of Ohrid, we drive toward the northern part of Lake Ohrid, Mount Jablanica, and two cave monasteries. The first monastery we visit is the Kalishta monastery complex, only 4 km from the city of Struga. Built in cave openings on the lakeside, St. Mary cave monastery is one of the well-preserved cave monasteries found there, dating from the late 13th and early 14th centuries. The tour continues toward the Albanian border and the small fishing village of Radozda. On the hill above the village, high in the rocks, you will find the 13th-century cave church of St. Archangel Michael. After a 20-minute drive toward Mount Jablanica, we arrive at the traditional village of Vevcani, where you’ll enjoy the village scenery and Vevcani Springs above the village. After a short walk, traditional food will be served in an Etno-house.
