Timed for mid-August through September, this immersive Prince of Wales Island adventure is designed for anglers seeking both saltwater and freshwater opportunities. Based in Klawock, enjoy full day guided ocean fishing, on-your-own river fishing, and the flexibility of a vehicle rental to explore the island’s expansive road system at your own pace. This itinerary blends guided expertise and independent exploration, ideal for serious anglers and adventurous travelers alike.

An optional Ocean-to-Table Fishing & Dining experience elevates the program (at an additional cost), pairing the thrill of the catch with a curated coastal meal.

Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival & Optional Ocean-to-Table Fishing & Dining Experience
Arrive in Klawock where a host meets you at the airport or ferry for a brief community orientation en route to your accommodations. After vehicle orientation and trip overview, guests arriving earlier in the day may opt for the Ocean-to-Table Fishing & Dining experience, combining a hands-on fishing excursion with a locally prepared meal featuring your catch. The remainder of the day is free to explore Prince of Wales Island and do last minute shopping for local fishing gear.

Day 2: Full-Day Ocean Fishing
Spend the day on the water targeting seasonal species in the rich marine environments surrounding Prince of Wales Island. With experienced local captains, fish productive nearshore and offshore waters known for salmon and halibut runs in late season. Return in the afternoon with time to relax or explore independently.

Day 3: River Fishing & Independent Exploration
Today shifts to freshwater angling. Experience self-guided river fishing (permit included), targeting late-season salmon in scenic forested streams. Following a successful day on the river, explore additional access points, scenic roads, or coastal pullouts throughout the island.

Day 4: Final Cast & Departure
Enjoy a relaxed morning with optional additional river fishing or independent exploration before returning your vehicle and transferring to the airport or ferry for departure.
