Set out from Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey and begin your 8-hour rockfishing adventure with a warm welcome from our experienced captain and crew. After a quick safety orientation and fishing overview, we cruise out into the rich waters of Monterey Bay, passing sea lions, seabirds, and stunning coastal views along the way.

Once we reach fishing grounds, our crew will provide hands-on instruction showing you how to drop your line, feel the bite, and reel in your catch. This trip is beginner-friendly and fully guided, so whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you’re a seasoned angler, you’ll feel confident and supported throughout the day.

If you are going on the 8-hour trip, it is highly recommended that you bring your own lunch or snacks. We will only have chips and candy available for purchase.

You’ll target a variety of rockfish species, and depending on conditions, you may also hook into lingcod or other seasonal bottom fish. The action can be steady and exciting, with multiple opportunities to reel in fish throughout the trip.

Between bites, take in panoramic ocean views and watch for marine wildlife that Monterey Bay is famous for. Our crew is happy to answer questions, share local knowledge, and help you make the most of your experience.

At the end of the trip, we return to the wharf where crew members can assist with filleting your catch, so you can take home fresh fish ready to cook. From start to finish, this trip delivers a classic California coastal fishing experience filled with learning, excitement, and unforgettable memories on the water.
