The 17-mile Valley Loop Drive inside Monument Valley is a rugged dirt road. While standard cars may drive it only in dry conditions, you enter at your own risk. A high-clearance or SUV is strongly recommended due to deep sand and uneven terrain. Large RVs and trailers are discouraged, and many rental companies prohibit travel on unpaved roads
