The general cost of a golf round in Vietnam is influenced by several factors. These often include the course's prestige and location, whether it's a weekday or weekend, and if you're playing during peak tourist seasons. Prices can also vary depending on whether the green fee includes a golf cart, caddy services, or rental equipment. Newer or championship courses generally have higher rates, reflecting their design and facilities.
When visiting Vietnam, golfers typically have several options for transporting their clubs. Many airlines offer specialized baggage services for golf equipment, though extra fees apply, so it's wise to check with your airline in advance. Alternatively, you can rent clubs directly at the golf course, which eliminates travel hassle but may limit club choice. For local transport within Vietnam, private car services are often preferred for their convenience in handling bulky equipment.
In Vietnam, caddy services are an integral part of the golf experience, and tipping is customary and appreciated. While specific amounts can vary, it is generally recommended to offer a tip that reflects the quality of service provided by your caddy. This shows appreciation for their assistance with club selection, course navigation, and overall support throughout your round. It’s best to prepare cash for tipping at the end of your game.
