Conveniently situated a stone's throw away from the renowned Black Sand Beach and within proximity to numerous local attractions, it serves as an ideal pit stop for those travellers traversing the coastline.

The showroom houses genuine lava from the formidable Katla volcanic system, heated to the extreme temperature of 1.100°C and poured into the room. This spectacle presents a mesmerising fusion of heat, colour, and sound. Under the guidance of knowledgeable Lava Masters, you'll gain insights into the dramatic eruptions of nearby Katla and Eyjafjallajökull and their role in shaping Iceland’s distinctive landscapes.

This immersive experience is perfectly suited for anyone keen on understanding Iceland’s geology in an engaging and interactive manner. Both educational and entertaining, the Lava Show is the only place globally where one can safely witness flowing lava indoors, making it an essential activity in Vík, regardless of the weather conditions.   • Meeting point description: Lava Show in Vík is located just minutes away from Iceland’s famous Black Sand Beach. Please arrive 20 minutes before the beginning.(Víkurbraut 5, 870 Vík, Iceland)

  • Accessibility:The venue is wheelchair accessible. Please let Lava Show know in advance if you require wheelchair seating. Find the contact information on the voucher you'll receive after booking

  • The show is a safe experience, and the heat should not be an issue, but pregnant women, young children, and people with cardiovascular diseases are recommended to sit in the back and/or close to the exits to be on the safe side

  • Not allowed:Food

  • Know in advance:Free parking is available directly at the Lava Show facility

  • Security goggles are provided. Please keep them on at all times during the show, and especially when the lava is cooling down and solidifying

  • Seating is not assigned and is available on a first-come, first-served basis

  • For safety reasons, all babies need to be seated on the third row, near an exit

  • Once the lava pours into the showroom, it gets hot. It is advised to remove some outer layers of clothing at the beginning of the show

  • The lava contains no volcanic gases, so it is completely safe to breathe in the showroom at all times

  • You are welcome to take photos and short videos during the show, but please turn off your flash as it both disturbs the other guests and the show master, and actually turns the colour of the lava purple in pictures
