Autumn, typically from September to November, is widely considered the most spectacular due to the vibrant, colorful forests that reflect beautifully in its clear lakes. Summer (June-August) is ideal for lush greenery and escaping heat, while spring (April-May) features blooming flowers. Winter (December-March) transforms the landscape into a snowy wonderland with ice waterfalls, providing a different, serene experience.
The altitude of Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area generally ranges from approximately 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) at the entrance to over 3,000 meters (9,840 feet) in the higher valleys. Specifically, Long Lake in Zechawa Valley is around 3,100 meters, and the Five-Color Pond in Jiuzhaigou is close to 3,000 meters.
