-What you can expect-
Join a full-day tour on a traditional fishing boat and enjoy exploring the volcanic islet of Vila Franca do Campo, admiring the whales and the dolphins, having some local food for lunch in a typical restaurant, and snorkeling.

After meeting at the Marina for checking-in, your experience will start with a short introduction about the cetaceans, some other local species, behavioral patterns and onboard safety. At this point you'll be ready to leave for a watching tour of approximately 3 hours around the islet. Once the tour will be ended, you'll return to the Marina to enjoy your lunch at a close seafront restaurant. After lunch, you'll meet again at the Marina to get your snorkeling equipment, board on a converted old fishing boat and reach the Princess Ring, a perfect spot where to do some snorkeling or simply swimming. You'll also be given some free time to explore the islet by yourself.

There will be a boat bringing you back from the islet to the Marina every hour until 5.30pm, be sure not to miss it!

  • Meeting point description: Coming from Ponta Delgada city center by car, head East along the coast and follow directions to Vila Franca do Campo. Once in Vila Franca do Campo, descend towards the sea level to reach the Marina and your local tour operator's base, where yellow boats are stationed.   • Minimum age for joining this tour: 4 years old

  • Also, this experience isn't suitable for pregnant women as well as people with reduced mobility and medically fragile
