Product Info

Meet your guide at the Colosseum, where you will benefit from fast-track access to skip the ticket lines. You will then witness the sheer scale of this vast amphitheater; a showpiece of Roman ingenuity.

Following the Colosseum, take a short walk to the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum, the heart of the ancient city. Located around this ancient square are the ruins of the 1st-century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House, and the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus. Situated a little way along the Via Sacra (Sacred Way) is the Capitoline Hill and Il Vittoriano, an impressive neoclassical masterpiece, named “the wedding cake” by the locals.

Continue onwards to the breathtaking Trevi Fountain where, according to legend, if you throw a coin into the fountain you will one day return to Rome. Take a break for lunch at your own expense. Your guide can offer suggestions if required, there is much to choose from!

After lunch you will tour the Government District. See the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Located nearby is the Temple of Hadrian built in honour of Emperor Hadrian by his successor, Emperor Antonius Pius. Follow your guide down a narrow alleyway to the piazza della Rotonda, home to the legendary Pantheon, the location of the tomb of the Renaissance genius, Raphael. Pass by the ancient Baths of Nero on your way to Piazza Navona where Bernini’s sensational ‘Fountain of the Four Rivers’ is situated.

The final stop on the tour is located just across the river Tiber - the Vatican City. Tour the Vatican Museums, home to some of the world’s most spectacular and famous artworks including frescoes by Raphael, and Michelangelo’s wonderful ceiling in the Sistine Chapel.
