The tour begins in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Learn about the history of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps during a guided tour with a certified historian and guide. Auschwitz-Birkenau was founded in 1940 by Nazi Germany and was the largest concentration camp operated by the Nazis. It became the final resting place for millions of people, mostly Jews and Poles, who were murdered in gas chambers. Pass through the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" to enter Auschwitz I, where your guide will show you around the preserved area and explain the history of the site. Then, visit the second camp at Birkenau, where mass killings took place as part of the Nazi "Final Solution to the Jewish Question."

During the second half of this full-day tour, you will discover one of the most important sites of the Middle Ages on a guided tour of the impressive Wieliczka Salt Mine. Meet an English-speaking guide on arrival, and then descend beneath the ground to discover an extraordinary underground art museum. Walk down 800 steps to reach a depth of 135 meters, and experience the cooler temperature as you follow a route of around 2 kilometers through the different chambers.
Currently one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments – and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site – the salt mines feature dozens of statues and four chapels the miners carved out of the rock salt, along with extra carvings made by contemporary artists.

Before entering the Salt Mine you will have 1 hour lunch break.
