Product Info

"Explaining Nazism" is a guided interpretive experience for those who want to understand not just where history happened — but to explore how and why.

Walking through key sites in Berlin — Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, the Soviet War Memorial, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews, the site of Hitler’s bunker, and the Topography of Terror — we will walk not only to recount facts, but to open up deeper layers of meaning behind them.

The experience is grounded in two guiding principles:
– Comprehending is not accepting;
– There is no single or definitive historical explanation (around 20.000 books were written about the Holocaust, for instance)

From these starting points, we weave in the voices of historians, philosophers, writers, some of whom lived and suffered those years: Hannah Arendt, Karl Jaspers, Victor Klemperer, Primo Levi, Raul Hilberg, Joseph Roth, Georg Lukács, among others.

Together, we’ll explore questions such as:
– How did nationalism, racial thinking, and authoritarian traditions shape modern Germany?
– What was the psychological logic of obedience and the Führer-principle?
– How do guilt, memory, and responsibility echo into the present?

This tour is designed for small groups to allow for moments of reflection, questioning, and dialogue. It is ideal for visitors who seek a deeper, intellectually honest engagement with the darkest chapter of German history — not for easy answers, but for meaningful comprehension.
