Product Info

If you’d like to explore Ghent beyond the obvious highlights and discover the many faces of our city — and if you’re a foodie (or simply curious about what locals love to eat) — this tour is the perfect match! It combines 1.5 hours of guided sightseeing with a delicious local meal. Your guide will take you to the restaurant and arrange everything for you. Once your food is served, the guide will leave, giving you all the time you need to relax, recharge and savour the flavours of Ghent at your own pace.

Part 1: Walking Sightseeing Tour

Your experience begins with a short introduction at the Jacob Van Artevelde statue, right in the heart of Vrijdagmarkt Square. From here, you’ll head into Ghent’s historic centre, stopping at iconic locations such as Graslei, Korenlei, and the city’s famous three medieval towers: Saint Bavo’s Cathedral, Saint Nicholas’ Church and the Belfry of Ghent. Discover why two major churches stand so close together and uncover the story behind Ghent’s legendary Golden Dragon (and no — not the beer!).

You’ll also dive into Ghent’s vibrant street art scene with a visit to the city’s most colourful alley: Graffiti Street. Your guide will explain its history, and if you bring a pencil, pen or even a paintbrush, you’re welcome to add your initials and leave a small mark of your visit.

Along the way, you’ll explore parts of Ghent that go beyond the classic postcard views, including the arts quarter, the area where Emperor Charles V was born, and the former armoury of the Counts of Flanders, among other hidden gems.

Part 2: A Local Meal

After the walking tour, it’s time to enjoy some well-earned food. We work exclusively with local, independent partners, because we believe in sharing authentic experiences rather than commercial ones. Every restaurant has its own story — just like the dishes you’ll be tasting. Sit back, relax and enjoy a true flavour of Ghent.

You choose where to go from the 3 options we offer:

-A very traditional fries and beef stew meal (there is a vegan alternative) at a frituur

-A plant based option (here a drink is included) - this is a reference to Ghent's hipster lifestyle

-Meatballs, mash and yummy sauce (vegetarian option available) - childhood classic for locals.

Please let us know the option you prefer (1 option per booking).

We look forward to welcoming you!
