The Legendary Khantoke Dinner at Old Chiangmai Cultural Center
Founded in 1971, Old Chiangmai Cultural Center has been welcoming guests for over 50 years and is determined to support and preserve the artistic and cultural heritage of the Lanna Culture for as long as possible. We are now honored to welcome you and your guests to Chiangmai with our delicious Northern Thai cuisine, traditional shows, and performances.
The Khantoke is a northern and northern-eastern Thai tradition. The term 'Khan Toke' refers to a small pedestal tray or low round table made of teak (or, in some circumstances, a bamboo, and rattan mix) that is used as a dining table for special occasions such as weddings, funerals, or temple festivals. Guests sit on the floor around the table as various delicacies are presented. Traditional Thai dancing will be performed at a khan toke supper show. Some of these shows are more 'touristy' than others, but they are still fun and reasonably priced ways to spend an evening.
