The zoo actively protects endangered species and has become a refuge for, among others: Rothschild's giraffe, Przewalski horse, pygmy hippopotamus, red panda, snow leopard, Siberian tiger, maned wolf, chimpanzee, ruffed and ring-tailed lemurs, Indian elephant, Andean condor, Humboldt penguin.
