Mataking Island, located in the Celebes Sea in southern Sabah, Malaysia, is one of the most popular islands in the town of Semporna. The Reef Dive Resort Mataking is nestled on this private tropical island, exclusively catering to in-house guests, ensuring a peaceful and private stay amidst nature's embrace.
Mataking Island consists of two parts, Mataking Besar (the larger) and Mataking Kecil (the smaller), spanning a total area of just 40 acres. During low tide, a sand bridge surfaces, connecting the two islands that are 500 meters apart, forming a charming white sand pathway for an extraordinary walk on the water.
Indulge in unlimited snorkeling in the crystal-clear sea, surrounded by tropical fish and the captivating underwater world. You can enjoy relaxing swings over the sea, adding to your family fun. The island's underwater post office is a unique attraction for diving enthusiasts worldwide. Divers deposit their sealed letters in the underwater mailboxes, which the staff collect regularly. You'll soon receive a letter from the sea, a memorable souvenir of your adventure!
Mataking is recognized as a national turtle sanctuary. Every year from April to September, turtles make their way ashore to lay their eggs. The staff carefully relocate these eggs to a hatchery for protection. After several weeks, the baby turtles hatch and are guided back to the sea.

- For cancellations made at least 8 day(s) prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 10% will apply
- For cancellations made 1 to 7 days prior to selected date, a cancellation fee of 50% will apply
- Cancellation is not allowed between 0–0 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.
- Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy. Once the cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 14 working days.
