Spend your time stargazing with astronomers and astrophotographers at one of the best stargazing spots—the internationally accredited Mid Murray Dark Sky Reserve.
This reserve is one of the darkest places on earth, with recent recordings of this darkness being measured at 21.97 on a scale of 0 to 22.
With the darkness here being of such outstanding quality, you get to see an astounding number of stars! While regular Southern Hemisphere urban areas might allow you to view up to 200–300 stars, here you can effortlessly see an estimated 5000 stars while also getting a much better view of the center of the galaxy!

- The tour meeting time is 4:30 pm, at Arnold Park next to the Mannum Visitor Information Centre
- The arrival time back at Mannum once the tour has concluded is approximately 10:30 pm
- Weather is vital as telescopes are affected by wind, clouds, and rain. As weather forecasts are unreliable until the day of the tour, you will be notified by 3:00 pm if the weather and cloud forecasts are favorable for the tour
- Tours may commence earlier or later than scheduled
- Make sure to dress warmly as it can get cold at night time, even during the summer
- This tour's duration is approximately 7 hours
- A minimum of 6 confirmed passengers is required before the tour will depart
