We set off from Taichung, and it started drizzling as we approached Taipei, meaning we had to use umbrellas to see the Yin-Yang Sea and Golden Waterfall. By the time we reached Jiufen, we were already wearing raincoats. Little did we know that Shifen would be even more spectacular – our shoes were completely soaked! 😂😂😂

It's a fairly high-ranking restaurant. You can choose between hot and cold drinks. The food is consistently delicious.

First of all, to get to this restaurant, you have to go down a super crowded staircase. It was incredibly crowded. Make sure you allow plenty of time. We went on a Sunday, in the middle of a three-day weekend in Japan. The roads are usually busiest between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM. My 10-year-old and I had a reservation for 7:30 PM, but after eating and looking around the restaurant, we decided to head down the stairs at 5:30 PM, even though it was too early. It felt dangerous and a bit breathless. Be very careful if you're traveling with children. There's a rope in front of the stairs, and the staff member standing there said it was okay, even though it was a little early. The restaurant was empty. By chance, there was a terrace seat on the second floor, so we were seated! There are only two tables! There's also terrace seating on the first floor, but most of the seats are ocean-facing and the aisles are narrow, so I think our seats were the best. Although the number of people on the stairs looked like a lot from the second floor, the shop was always empty, so the staff didn't seem annoyed even though we stayed for a long time. Everyone was very kind. We spent about an hour and a half leisurely enjoying the view and tea. I don't think there are many customers who drink all the hot water like we did... But it was a very good experience on this trip! I definitely recommend booking here!

We were blessed with perfect weather and were able to tour efficiently. We traveled in a minibus with six people, which was spacious and smooth. The guide also explained a lot, but I felt like I could have understood more if my Japanese level had been a little higher. It was difficult to understand the historical parts... Still, it was a tour worth going on.
