As a native Hong Konger, Sha Tau Kok is a border area requiring a special permit to enter, a name always shrouded in mystery. Today, I was fortunate enough to join a KKday Sha Tau Kok guided tour, and the entire experience far exceeded my expectations. I especially commend our professional guide, Henry, and the meticulously planned itinerary and explanations. The weather and scenery today were breathtaking. Henry led us through the nearly century-old Xinlou Street, the Fanling-Sha Tau Kok branch line train, the waterfront promenade, and Hakka-style "Poon Choi" (a traditional Cantonese dish). Along the way, we encountered many "photo spots," adding considerable fun to this cultural journey. We also visited the longest pier, Sha Tau Kok Pier; his explanations by the sea were so detailed and insightful that we couldn't help but admire his extensive knowledge. Lunch included authentic Hakka "Poon Choi," with a view of Chung Ying Street from the restaurant. We also bought a large bag of local delicacies, and at the end of the tour, we visited Lao Xu Farm, a truly rewarding experience for both our taste buds and the surrounding scenery. The most fortunate thing about this guided tour was meeting a dedicated, professional, and enthusiastic guide. It transformed the experience into a vivid story, a series of unforgettable dishes, and a series of beautiful seaside landscapes. Henry didn't rush the itinerary; instead, he allocated ample time for observation, photography, and questions at each spot. His explanations avoided repetitive and superficial content, instead brimming with historical detail and human warmth. This Shatoujiao guided tour is definitely worth trying.
