The best travel season for Sichuan depends on personal preferences, but autumn (September to November) is generally considered the most suitable time to visit. The weather is cool and pleasant, perfect for admiring golden autumn leaves and rich natural landscapes. Other seasons also have their own charm: spring (March to May) is when flowers are in full bloom and the climate is mild; summer (June to August) is the peak tourist season with diverse festivals, suitable for outdoor activities; and winter (December to February) offers snow scenery in the plateau regions and fewer crowds. To experience Sichuan's most captivating natural scenery, especially the autumn colors of Jiuzhaigou, mid-to-late October to early November is the ideal time. If you wish to avoid crowds and see different seasonal landscapes, consider the off-peak season in winter.

Taiwan allows its citizens to travel to Sichuan for independent travel, but please be aware of the relevant regulations. To travel to Sichuan, you need to carry a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (commonly known as 'Tai Bao Zheng'). Since November 1, 2023, health declarations are no longer required for entry and exit to Sichuan, making customs clearance more convenient. To enhance the safety of Taiwanese citizens traveling to Sichuan, it is recommended that Taiwanese citizens register with the Mainland Affairs Council's 'System for Registration of Taiwanese Residents Traveling to the Mainland' in advance to receive timely assistance in case of any incidents.
